紐時：美25-54歲男性無業者日多

紐約時報11日報導，從1960年代末期以來，美國愈來愈多25-54歲的男性沒有工作。以25-54歲的男性人口而言，無工作男性比率從1960年代末期的5%，到2000年上升為11%，今年再增加為16%。

紐時指出，美國人口統計局每個月都調查無業者的狀況，他們發現24-54歲男性無工作的主要原因有：

‧在學：自2007年以來，多數因在學而未就業的男性，似乎主要是因為找不到兼職工作而繼續念書，而非因為要念書而不工作。

‧照顧家人：目前因照顧家庭及家人而不工作的男性，已是2000年時的兩倍。

‧失能：在無業男性中，約20%自稱失能，50歲以上自稱失能者尤其大增。

‧退休：自2000年以來，25-54歲男性中，提早退休者略增；但55歲以上人口延後退休的情況不減反增。
