全球瘧疾死亡率十餘年間大降47%

世界衛生組織9日發布「2014年世界瘧疾報告」，2000年起全球瘧疾病例數量穩定減少，瘧疾死亡人數大幅下降。全球邁向清除瘧疾目標的國家正在增加。

報告估計，2013年全球約有1.98億瘧疾患者，死亡58.4萬人，阿塞拜疆和斯里蘭卡首次報告瘧疾零感染病例，阿根廷、埃及、伊拉克等11國繼續維持零感染病例。

報告說，2000年至2013年間，獲得瘧疾快速檢測、有效治療及使用經殺蟲劑處理的蚊帳預防瘧疾的人數大幅增加。其中2013年撒哈拉以南的非洲地區，半數面臨瘧疾風險的人群已使用經殺蟲劑處理的蚊帳。

數據顯示，2000年至2013年間，全球瘧疾死亡率下降了47%，其中占全球瘧疾死亡總人數九成的非洲地區死亡率下降54%。不過目前全球仍有數以百萬計的人缺少瘧疾檢測與治療措施。
